Sri Trimbakeshwar Temple

When we all hear about Lord Maha Shiva the first word that strikes us is "Jothirlinga".
Yes, now we will explore one of the Jothirlinga i.e. Sri Trimbakeshwar Temple considered as one of the oldest Shiva temples.

This temple comes across at Brahmagiri Mountain, Nasik, Maharastra. The place where the Holy river Godavari originated. One of the best places covered with full of greenery mountains. 


Let's go through some amazing facts about this Temple:

1. Before reaching the main temple we will come across the Kushavrata tirtha (Pond). Considered as divine tirtha, The River Godavari which is originated above the Brahmagiri mountain will be coming directly to this tirtha and there is the belief that one who takes holy a dip here will surely clear all their sins.



2. People who visit the temple will be mesmerized by the old traditional sculptural artwork. You can see the beautiful Gali  Gopuram and will be amazed by seeing Nature, greenery mountains around this Gopuram. This temple was rebuilt by the third Peshwa Balaji Bajirao in 1677.


3. After Gali gopuram darshan directly will be moving towards main Garbha Gudi, the place where Lord Shiva gives darshan in form of Linga Roopa(Trimbakeshwara). The Special thing about the Lord's is, its 3 faced linga.
There is a Golden Crown which will be kept on the Lord Trimbakeshwar only on every Monday and there is a belief that this Crown is been using since Dwaparayug.


 4. 30 km to Trimbhakeshwar there is a place named Panchavati where Lord Sree RAM along with Devi Sita and Lakshmana stayed here for Vanavasa.

  • Everyone should take the darshan of Lord Shiva and you will come back definitely with lots of strength and courage.
  • One can reach the Trimbhakeshwar temple easily by road. This is located 30 km from Nasik and 240 km from Pune.
